Apple and date chutney
A sweet chutney, perfectly at home on a platter of cheese and crackers.
- Place all ingredients in a large saucepan or preserving pan. Bring to the boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Turn down the heat and simmer hard, stirring regularly, for 1 hour 10 minutes or until the liquid has reduced and the mixture thickened.
- Spoon into sterilised jars and seal well.
- Store in a cool, dark place for one month for flavours to mature before using.
