These delicious Mexican or Spanish treats are great for entertaining, or as an after-school snack.
- Place water, brown sugar and butter in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Add the flour and salt and remove from the heat. Mix until the batter comes together into a ball. Set aside to cool for 5 minutes, then slowly beat in the eggs, a little at a time.
- Place the mixture in a piping bag and pipe fingers around 6cm long on a tray lined with baking paper.
- Heat enough oil in a large saucepan to come 4 to 5cm up the sides of the pan. once the oil is hot, cook the churros in batches until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel and then dust with combined sugar and cinnamon.
- Serve churros with caramel or chocolate dipping sauce.
