Home-made hot dogs

We had home-made bread rolls for our hot dogs but if that’s not on your agenda, buy bread slices and fill them with your favourites. On a picnic, it’s probably easier to keep the fillings simple with the sausage and some sauce. Again, wrap the sausages up to keep them warm.

Ingredients

8 Sausages
8 Bread rolls, hot dog sized
1 to serve Tomato sauce
1 to serve Aioli

Topping 1

2 Onions, caramelised
½ Red pepper, sliced and roasted
80 g Blue cheese

Topping 2

2 cups Coleslaw mix, Asian style
4 Tbsp Pickle

Directions

  1. Barbecue or pan fry the sausages. Slice the rolls and heat the bread in the oven.
  2. Fill your buns with a sausage and your chosen topping.
